Drylining across Warwickshire and the West Midlands

Drylining is the core of what we do. We line walls and ceilings in plasterboard, add the insulation and acoustic layers the job calls for, and leave a straight, solid surface ready to finish.

On new builds and conversions we board whole buildings, from the first partition to the last ceiling. On refurbishments we work around what is already there and make good where walls come out or openings go in.

Every job is set out properly first, because the finish is only as good as the frame behind it.

Questions

Drylining: common questions

What is drylining?

Drylining means lining walls and ceilings with plasterboard instead of applying wet plaster straight onto the masonry. The boards are fixed to metal framing or timber, or bonded direct with adhesive, to give a straight, solid surface ready for finishing.

Is drylining better than traditional plastering?

For most new builds, conversions and commercial jobs, yes. There is far less drying time, so the next trades can follow on sooner, and the space behind the board can carry insulation, acoustic layers and services. Wet plaster still has its place on some repairs and older buildings, and we will tell you honestly which suits your job.

Can drylining improve insulation and soundproofing?

Yes. Insulation in the framing, insulated or acoustic plasterboard and resilient bars on ceilings all cut heat loss and noise between rooms. In apartments, separating walls and floors usually have to meet the sound requirements of the Building Regulations (Approved Document E), so we build to the system specified for the job.

Do you dryline commercial and residential buildings?

Both. We work on new-build apartments, conversions, commercial fit-outs, extensions and home renovations across Warwickshire and the West Midlands, including Warwick, Leamington Spa, Kenilworth, Solihull and Coventry.

Can you plaster and decorate after the boarding?

Yes. Our own teams board the walls and ceilings, and plastering and decorating come through our network of trusted subcontractors, so the room comes back finished and you still deal with one team.
